Stay a while to share my thoughts on writing and life.

Le Livre sur les Quais

If you are a book-lover and happen to live in Switzerland or neighboring France, this coming weekend you’ll be in for a real treat. In the picturesque town of Morges, half-an-hour north-east of Geneve or twenty minutes south-west of Lausanne, there will be a three day book event happening on the otherwise-tranquil quays with gorgeous views of the mountains and of Lake Leman.

This will be the fourth year running that this fantastic event – The Book on the Quays – will be drawing young and old alike, to meet and talk with authors, attend various literary events (mostly free of charge!), buy books, enjoy local food and wine and generally be inspired by what – for the local writers community – is certainly ‘the event of the year’.

The program (mostly in French, but with some English-language events) can be found here with a writing workshop for teens and up presented by wonderful writer and friend Katie Hayoz and by Yours Truly. If you happen to know anyone interested in a fun, dynamic workshop, do send them this link. The event, like most of the other events at Le Livre sur les Quais is free of charge, but registration (by email to katiehayoz@gmail.com) is necessary as places are limited.

Hope you can come by and say hello, attend some of the literary events, drink some nice local wine and breath in the scent of new books, the lake and the mountains. I can not think of a better combination on what will hopefully be a wonderful, warm late-summer weekend. See you there!
