Welcome to 2009 – a year full of reading, writing and hopefully many other good things.
For me it started well, with my first collection of short stories now available from amazon.com and from bookshops near you (ISBN 1438247338 EAN-139781438247335 Country of Publication: United States)
Two other books are grinding their way through the system – and will hopefully see the light of day later this year.
The birth of a book is not very different from the birth of a child: one worries how it is going to turn out. But now that it is out there, it’s time to let go, and hope that it will find readers who will enjoy it (and probably also a few who won’t!).
And if discussing books and opinions, don’t forget to tune in to the Bookmark programme on World Radio Switzerland, 88.4 FM in the Geneva area, and online at www.worldradio.ch.
This month we’ll be discussing The White Tiger by Aravind Adiga (winner of the Man Booker Prize), The Only Son by Stephane Audeguy and The Tenderness of Wolves by Stef Penney.
Happy reading, writing and listening!
