2023 Saskatchewan Book Awards

I am so honored to have been asked to be on the jury of this year’s prize, and to be able to read some wonderful new books from Saskatchewan writers.

The choice was hard but the shortlist has been published and now the award finalists announced. Read these books, they are simply wonderful. My personal favorite was Grandfather’s Reminder, a young reader’s book written in three languages: English, Cree and Plains Cree by Alberta-Rose Bear and Kathleen Bear. Can’t wait to read more books by Saskatchewan authors and learn more about Indigenous Canadian culture and stories. Thank you for letting me be a part of it!
